Day 22: So, what do I do now?
We can’t believe it, friends-
The 21 Day Pursuit has officially come to a close. What a journey it has been!
We hope you feel as refreshed, inspired, and challenged as we do.
It is our desire that as you continue on in your journey toward pursuing the heart of God, that you would have the tools, knowledge, and community that you need to thrive in your faith.
Within the busyness and noise of everyday life, we know how difficult it can be to find time to invest in your relationship with Jesus. We believe that small disciplines help us to create big, life-changing habits, so we really wanted to take a moment to encourage you:
If you made it this far, keep going. If you made it halfway, or even some of the way, keep going!
In his book The Pursuit of God, A.W. Tozer writes,
“We pursue God because, and only because, He has first put an urge within us that spurs us to the pursuit … The impulse to pursue God originates with God, but the outworking of that impulse is our following hard after Him. All the time we are pursuing Him we are already in His hand.”We believe that as you follow hard after God, He will continue to reveal Himself to you.
Continue Your Pursuit
To celebrate the conclusion of the 21 Day Pursuit, The Pursuit Team wanted to offer some of our favorite resources that have helped each of us on our own faith journey.
Founding Pastor of Bridgetown Church, John Mark Comer, has created an incredible, free discipleship tool called Practicing the Way. Practicing the Way is a pathway to becoming like Jesus in community. Check out their website to receive dozens of free resources that many of our staff members at Reality have used and loved. https://www.practicingtheway.org/
John Mark Comer’s Rule of Life podcast has been another amazing tool for many in our community. Their team dives into conversations about practicing the way of Jesus through learning ancient practices and rhythms in new ways. Check out Rule of Life via Apple Podcasts and on Spotify, and be sure to subscribe!
Looking for some new reading material to follow the 21 Day Pursuit? Here are some of our staff picks:
Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund is one of Pastor Josh’s favorites when it comes to learning more about the person of Jesus.
With by Skye Jethani is a favorite of Pastor Lindsey’s. It helps us unpack different ways we relate to God and how God wants us to relate to Him as our greatest treasure.
None Like Him and In His Image by Jen Wilkin are both fantastic books that dig into knowing and loving God on a deeper level.
For those who enjoy reading the Scriptures each day and having an accompanying podcast, “The Bible Re-Cap” by Tara Leigh Cobble takes listeners through the Bible in a year with a short daily podcast helping to help you dig deeper into the passage for the day. You can find the plan on the Bible App, and the accompanying podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
We pray that this 21 Day Pursuit toward the heart of God has changed your heart each day- that it has helped you discover an even clearer picture of the reality of God’s love for you and His purpose for your life. If you have been greatly impacted by the Pursuit, we would love it if you shared your testimony with us. Remember, friends: no matter where you are at on your journey, keep going. As you pursue God’s heart, He will meet you there.
