Hello Reality Church,

As we head into 2024 (can you even believe it!), we can focus our lives on what is most important: knowing God more and increasing our faith in Him. Fasting and prayer are no doubt two of the greatest blessings God has given us to do that.

I often think of questions like this: What will matter most to me at the end of something? It can orient me to what I need to focus on. Sometimes, it isn’t easy to be intentional, but I want you to consider being intentional to know the Lord more in 2024, especially here at the beginning of the year. I know when we get to the end of 2024, this is what will matter most. Knowing the Lord more is the most significant thing we could prioritize and be intentional about.

I want to challenge you to take a bold step at the beginning of 2024 to join me in 21 days of fasting and prayer. We will do this as a church from January 15th to February 4th. If you do this, you will know God more and experience more of Him breaking through challenges and blessings in your life. If we do this together as a church family, the Holy Spirit will be poured out in ways over us that are beyond what we can imagine or think.

I am excited about this! I know it is going to be painful, too. Pain is so much easier to go through when we know the Lord is in it and there is something very good on the other side.

Finally, I know some of you can’t do a 21-day fast like this. There could be many reasons, and that is ok. You might want to check with your doctor about it. Either way, if you can’t fast food, consider what you might be able to give up so you can make more room in yourself for the Holy Spirit.
