Day 3 - God, Deepen our Hunger for You
Scripture Reading: Matthew 4:1-4
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Prayer Focus:
On this third day of fasting, our hunger can feel overwhelming. Spend time asking God to use this hunger to deepen an awareness of our need for Him.
Reflection Questions:
What areas of spiritual desperation and hunger are being revealed in your life? Pray the prayer John the Baptist, “He must increase and I must decrease”.
